Countdown card maker

Enter the date, name the day, and get the count as an image: the number of days left, large; the span in months, weeks and days; and the day it was counted on. No account, no e-mail, nothing stored.

What it does

It counts the whole days between today and the date you are waiting for, and draws that number as a card sized for the way every network unfolds a link. Unlike a story sticker, the card does not expire after a year, and unlike a timer on a page, it is a picture you can post anywhere.

The link under the answer carries the date, not the count. Whoever opens it gets the count as of their own day — which is what makes a shared countdown stay true in a group chat a week later. And the morning after the big day, the same date simply counts up.

How to use it

1. Enter the date you are counting down to.
2. Give it a headline: Wedding, Launch day, Marathon, Last day of school.
3. Pick a reading: night, or paper.
4. Download the image, or copy the link and post that instead.

Questions

What size is the card?

1200 by 630 pixels — the shape LinkedIn, Facebook, X, WhatsApp and Telegram give to an unfurled link, and the one every network accepts as an upload.

Does it show hours and minutes?

No. A countdown people post is counted in days; hours belong to a clock, and a clock is not a picture. The card says this week when there are seven days or fewer to go.

What happens on the day?

The card says so — zero days, and it's today. After that, the same date counts the days since: the tool is the days-since counter read the other way.

Is anything stored?

No. Nothing you type leaves the page except in the link you choose to copy. If you tick “keep this”, the date is kept in your own browser, so next week's card is one click away.
