Days since counter

Type the first day, give it a name, and get the count as a card you can post: the number, the span in years, months and days, and the next milestone with its date. No account, no e-mail, nothing kept once the card is drawn.

What it counts

The whole days between a date and today. That is the unit people actually post — 1 000 days together, 365 days sober, 500 days since the gotcha day — and the card says it in one figure, then breaks the same span down so a round number reads as the years and months it really is.

Two ladders are watched for you. The round numbers of days (100, 200, 300, 500, 1 000, 1 500, 2 000…) and the anniversaries in whole years. Whichever comes first is written on the card with its date, so you know when to come back — and when today is one of them, the card says so.

How to use it

1. Enter the date it all started.
2. Give it a headline — a word or two: Together, Sober, a pet's name.
3. Pick a reading: night, or paper.
4. Download the image and post it. The card carries the day it was counted on, so the number stays honest wherever it travels.

Questions

What size is the card?

1200 by 630 pixels — the shape LinkedIn, Facebook, X and WhatsApp give to an unfurled link, and the one every network accepts as an upload.

Why is there no share link with my date in it?

Because the date is yours. A shared address is public forever — in the recipient's history, in every crawler's log — so this tool never puts it in one. The image is what you share; the small code on it leads back here, to an empty form.

Does it count the first day?

It counts whole days elapsed: the day after the date is day 1. That is how anniversaries are counted, and how the milestones line up with the calendar.

What if the date is in the future?

Then it counts down instead — the calendar decides. For a date you are looking forward to, the countdown is the same tool asked the other way round.

Is anything stored?

No. The count is made and the card drawn in the same response. If you tick “keep this”, the date is kept in your own browser only, so you do not have to type it again next month.
